Just days after launching a military campaign dubbed “Operation Sindoor”, India has intensified its military operations against Pakistan.
On the night of May 11, India struck three Pakistani Air Force bases using air-to-surface missiles. Pakistan reports 13 fatalities and over 50 injuries, mainly in the disputed Kashmir region.
In response, Pakistan launched “Operation Bunyan Marsoos”, targeting Indian military infrastructure.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the military “has responded strongly and decisively today to India’s aggression, with a well-planned counterattack.”
India’s military, in a statement on Saturday, confirmed that Pakistan launched drones and other weapons into Indian territory but emphasized that the attacks were intercepted and neutralized.
The Indian military also reported spotting numerous enemy drones over Amritsar, a holy city in Punjab state, which were then shot down.
Tensions have long existed between the two nuclear powers, but the situation deteriorated sharply after 26 Indian tourists were killed in a Kashmir-based attack allegedly orchestrated by Pakistan.
