The Government of the Republic of Burundi, today June 9, anounces the death of Pierre Nkurunziza, outgoing President.
Nkurunziza admitted to Karuzi Hospital since Sunday, June 7 has died of heart failure yesterday, June 8 according to the Government.
Late Nkurunziza ruled Republic of Burundi since 2005. He was nearly to be succeeded by Rtd. Maj. Gen. Evariste Ndayishimiye, the winner of May 20 election.
Borne on 18 December 1964, Late Nkurunziza dies at the age of 55.
