In Kaniga I, Buhweju District, Rwengwe, Uganda, a shocking story is being told about a 43-year-old woman named Sharon Nshemereirwe who is accused of killing her husband, Beinomugisha, and burying him under their bed.
Police sources said the woman hit him on the head with a hammer on the night of April 13, 2025, wrapped him in clothes, and buried him in their room.
Nshemereirwe had been telling friends and family for some time that her husband had gone to work in South Sudan. After they did not reveal his identity, they questioned him and he told them that he was “on construction work.”
Police say that before committing the atrocities, Nshemereirwe sent her 13-year-old son to a shop and asked him not to come home that day.
Nshemereirwe later confessed to the crime, telling his brother, which was further revealed when the family came forward with information.
Investigations revealed that the family included three children and a worker who was said to be a ‘friend’ of the woman. There was also a three-month-old baby that Nshemereirwe was breastfeeding, but the paternity of the child is unknown.
Neighbors and district authorities said that the man had been in a long-standing dispute with the woman, especially over property and the child’s origin. It is suspected that there was mistrust and betrayal.
Bushenyi police said that Beinomugisha’s body was brought to the hospital on April 31, for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of his death.
Beinomugisha left behind eight children with three different women. He was a builder and a prominent businessman in the area.
