The Kicukiro Primary Court has ruled that Turahirwa Moses be held in 30-day provisional detention, as he is being investigated for alleged drug use.
The decision follows his pre-trial hearing on May 6, 2025, regarding whether he should be released or detained while investigations continue.
On Wednesday, May 9, the court confirmed that the well-known fashion designer will remain in custody for 30 days.
During the hearing, Turahirwa told the court that he suffers from mental health issues which sometimes affect his behavior, leading him to act without thinking. He said he has already begun treatment and is committed to following medical advice.
Despite this explanation, the court ruled that there are serious suspicions against him and that more time is needed for a thorough investigation. As a result, it ordered the provisional detention to protect the integrity of the investigation and justice process.
Turahirwa Moses, a prominent Rwandan fashion designer and entrepreneur, has frequently been in the media spotlight for his fashion work and social media lifestyle.
