On Wednesday, May 7, President Paul Kagame met and held talks with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.
The two Heads of State held their meeting at the French Presidential Palace, the Élysée.
The Rwandan Presidency announced that Kagame and Macron “discussed global issues and fruitful cooperation” between Rwanda and France.
President Kagame last visited France in October 2024, when he attended the Francophonie Summit. During that visit, he also met with Macron and discussed security challenges in eastern DR Congo.
Following his meeting with Macron, President Kagame is expected to attend the UEFA Champions League semi-final match on Wednesday evening, where Paris Saint-Germain will host Arsenal — both teams partner with Rwanda through the Visit Rwanda initiative.
