Pastor Mbarushimana Akim, known on TikTok as Pastor Akim, is under scrutiny following allegations from three women accusing him of inappropriate sexual behavior and misconduct.
The controversy emerged during a TikTok Live session hosted by influencer Godfather, where women including Gigi and Joanna shared their experiences.
Gigi’s Account:
Gigi, a single mother, recounted that after connecting with Pastor Akim on TikTok, he requested her phone number and initiated video calls. She alleges that during one call, he engaged in explicit behavior, leading her to feel violated. Gigi also claimed that Pastor Akim requested nude photos, which she refused.
Pastor Akim’s Response:
Pastor Akim denied the allegations, asserting that Gigi sent him explicit videos and that he shared them with a friend. Gigi refuted this, stating that the videos were not hers and that she plans to pursue legal action for defamation and misuse of her image.
Joanna’s Experience:
Another woman, Joanna, stated that Pastor Akim asked her to show parts of her body during video calls, claiming he needed to pray for her healing. He also prophesied that she would marry the son of Rwanda’s President, which she found manipulative.
Additional Allegations:
A third woman, known in Rwandan cinema as Mama Sava, alleged that Pastor Akim invited her to his church, prophesied marriage to a local actor, and later requested nude photos during video calls.
Pastor Akim has dismissed all accusations as fabrications by women seeking attention.
As of now, no official statements have been released by Rwandan investigative or religious authorities. However, the public has expressed concern over the ethical conduct of religious figures on social media platforms.
