The Mayor of Ngororero District, Christophe Nkusi, accompanied by a delegation including staff from the CERC-MINEMA Project, Kabaya Sector officials, Police, and DASSO, visited houses under construction for disaster victims on Wednesday. The homes are being built in three phases, with preparations underway for the fourth phase in Kabaya Sector.
Guidance was provided to finalize unfinished work in the previous phases and to ensure proper readiness for the upcoming phase.
The District Vice Mayor in charge of Economic Development, Mr. Patrick Uwihoreye, supervised this activity in Nyange Sector. He also met with local traders as part of a campaign encouraging the payment of taxes and fees.
Alongside staff from the Rwanda Revenue Authority and the District’s Finance Department Head, Mr. Christophe UWINGOGA, the Vice Mayor visited Nyange Sector to sensitize the public on tax obligations.
Furthermore, discussions were held with sector leaders on different local fees collected in Nyange Sector. Measures were agreed upon to increase revenues from the livestock market and to follow up with STECOL Company, which operates a quarry, to ensure it settles its RRA-issued invoices.
