This Saturday, May 31, 2025, the RDF (Rwanda Defence Force) team from the Fifth Land Forces Division will play a friendly football match against the UPDF (Uganda People’s Defence Force) Second Division team at Kyamate Stadium in Ntungamo city, Eastern Uganda.
This match is part of a program called Proximity Commanders’ Engagements, aimed at strengthening relations and cooperation between the armies of both countries, particularly in addressing cross-border and regional security challenges.
The Rwandan military delegation will be officially welcomed by Maj. Gen. Paul Muhanguzi, Commander of UPDF’s Second Division, along with other top Ugandan army officials.
The match will be open to the public, serving as a symbol of partnership between the military and civilians.
Beyond the match, soldiers from both countries, in collaboration with local leaders, will carry out activities such as a march through Ntungamo, tree planting, and blood donation, to promote strong civil-military cooperation.
