Tecquiero, one of the exceptionally talented child singers nurtured by the Sherrie Silver Foundation, has been facing discrimination and bullying on social media due to the irregular alignment of her teeth, which some people consider abnormal.
Through various popular video clips, Tecquiero displays an impressive talent that has earned her a lot of love and admiration. However, after appearing in some music videos, a wave of comments targeting her dental appearance started to emerge. Instead of showing love and support for a young girl developing her talent, some people chose to post hurtful and offensive comments.
Initially, the Sherrie Silver Foundation would immediately delete such negative comments. But after realizing that the issue was recurring and affecting the young girl’s emotional well-being, Sherrie Silver herself—the founder of the foundation—decided to seek a lasting solution.
On her X account (formerly Twitter), Sherrie Silver wrote:
“One of the most loved young artists from the Sherrie Silver Foundation is constantly being bullied on social media because of her teeth, and we’re tired of always deleting hateful comments 😞 We are looking for a dentist who would be willing to partner with us to find a lasting solution for her. Thank you so much.”
Sherrie’s message was well received by many, who expressed their support for the girl and the initiative. Some even offered to help financially or connect her with expert dentists.
The Sherrie Silver Foundation operates in Rwanda and other parts of Africa, and is known for nurturing children’s talents in music and dance, while also teaching them self-confidence and life vision.
