A 68-year-old man from South Africa was found dead in his bathroom on the morning of Wednesday, May 7, in the Parklands area of Nairobi, Kenya.
Police said preliminary investigations revealed that Mark Nalon Minter arrived in the country on May 1 for a work-related trip and was scheduled to leave on May 10.
He was accompanied by a female companion at the time of the incident. The woman told police they had gone to bed after dinner, but when she woke up on Wednesday morning, he was missing.
She later found him unresponsive, lying in the bathroom. According to Kenya’s The Star news outlet, he had collapsed there.
Paramedics from St John Ambulance were called, but after assessing him, they confirmed he had died.
Various medications used for treating hypertension and diabetes were reportedly found in the deceased’s bag.
Police have launched an investigation into the cause of death.
