Thieves Break into Kenyan Church, Drink Communion Wine and Steal Worship Instruments

In Kirinyaga County, Kenya, a strange incident has been reported where thieves broke into ACK St. Matthew’s Mutithi Church, drank communion wine, ate the holy bread used in sacraments, and stole church property including a piano used by the choir.

The incident was discovered in the morning when choir members arrived at the church and found the piano missing, prompting them to immediately alert the church leadership.

The assistant church leader, Eliud Githaka, described the incident as shocking and disturbing to the congregation.

Local residents suspect the night guard may have been asleep during the break-in, as he did not notice anyone entering the premises.

Some neighbors told the media, “We suspect the guard was asleep because he didn’t witness anything at all.”

Police arrived at the church on Monday night and assured that investigations have begun to identify the culprits and understand their motives.

The church leadership announced plans to hire internal security personnel, instead of relying on a single external worker.

“We are going to change how we handle security because we’ve realized we can’t depend on just one person who may fail us.”
