Two men who were broadcasting content on the YouTube channel Dawa Rwanda TV have been arrested by the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) on allegations of spreading false information and using language that incites division among citizens.
RIB announced that the arrest was carried out in collaboration with the Rwanda National Police on June 10, 2025, and that the two are currently being held at the Remera RIB Station while investigations are ongoing.
RIB spokesperson Dr. Thierry B. Murangira emphasized that social media should be used constructively, and reminded the public that using these platforms to undermine national unity is a crime punishable by law.
