At the concert titled “Inkera y’Abahizi! Komeza Imihigo” by veteran artist Mariya Yohana, held on the evening of Wednesday, July 3, 2025, at Intare Conference Arena, fans noticed the absence of popular artists like Bruce Melodie, Knowless, and Tom Close, who had been expected to attend.
After the show, Mariya Yohana explained to the media that their absence was due to unexpected circumstances.
She said:
“Some were sick, others were away on official assignments, but that didn’t stop the concert from going on.”
Despite their absence, the concert was a great success, featuring performances from various artists including Christopher, Juno Kizigenza, Aline Gahongayire, and Tonzi, who entertained the audience with songs centered on peace, love, and culture.
Mariya Yohana also launched her new album titled “Inkera y’Abahizi – Komeza Imihigo,” dedicating it to President Paul Kagame and the Rwandan Patriotic Army (RPA/Inkotanyi), praising their role in liberating and developing the country.
In her speech, she stated that her music is a tool of appreciation for good governance and the youth’s contribution in preserving Rwanda’s heritage.
The event was uniquely organized, featuring traditional dances, poetry, and more. It was also an opportunity to honor young artists and cultural troupes trained by Mariya Yohana, who showcased impressive talent and a strong patriotic message of loving and protecting Rwanda.
