Veteran Striker Kagere Meddie Set to Join Amavubi as Coach

The Head Coach of Rwanda’s national football team, Amavubi, Adel Amrouche, has revealed plans to collaborate with Kagere Meddie in a coaching role, particularly to support the team’s strikers.

He shared this during a press briefing while the Amavubi squad was in camp preparing for their second friendly match against Algeria.

Kagere, 38, had been absent from the national team for nearly two years but made a return in the first match against Algeria, where he demonstrated great experience and composure.

Amrouche stated: “Kagere’s presence here sends a strong message to the players. I’m preparing a plan to have him serve as a strikers’ coach, guiding them on how he approached goal-scoring challenges.”

Kagere has played for various clubs, including ATRACO, Rayon Sports, Gor Mahia, and Simba SC, and he currently plays for Namungo FC in Tanzania.
