Masezerano Ezechiel, a rising film actor, revealed that he faced serious backlash after appearing in a scene where he kisses Natacha Ndahiro in a recently released movie.
The 24-year-old, who is also the son of a pastor, said it was not easy explaining the scene to his parents, friends, and girlfriend.
“I told them before the film was released, but it was very hard for my family and my girlfriend,” he said.
He added that his parents were deeply disappointed by the footage, especially since some people linked it to his father’s religious responsibilities.
“In our family, it’s not seen as a violation of church rules, but rather of the values we were raised with,” he said.
Despite the criticism, the young actor said he remains committed to his acting dreams.
“I’ve loved cinema since I was a child. Now my dreams are starting to come true.”
