Tanzanian singer Zuchu, widely known for her hit song “Sukari” and her affiliation with WCB, the music label owned by Diamond Platnumz, has announced she will no longer collaborate with Kenyan musicians.
She made the statement following accusations that some Kenyans publicly disrespected and mocked President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
Zuchu said:
“I can’t work with Kenyans because they have no sense of respect. They disrespected the leader of our country. They must apologize!”
This comes amid rising tensions between Tanzania and Kenya, particularly after some Kenyan artists released songs that criticize President Samia’s leadership — a move that is unprecedented in the recent history of regional diplomacy.
Zuchu’s remarks sparked strong reactions on social media, with some Kenyans mocking her and others criticizing her for her stance.
